These are my handwritten Electromagnetic Theory notes. Second year, first semester, Electronics and Communication Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. I joined in 2011.
EM Theory was the course that asked me to hold vectors in my mind and build from there. Electrostatics, then magnetostatics, then electromagnetic fields and Maxwell’s equations, and finally wave propagation. Each section lays ground for the next. My third-year EM Fields and Microwave Engineering notes build directly on this.
I learned by teaching. I would take an idea to friends and classmates, explain it, go back when it did not hold, and try again until it stood. Understanding something deeply enough to teach it is the highest form of mastery.
In 2013, from a hostel room, I put my notes online. Since then, at least one person in the world has studied from my notes every day. The notes are free.
