Introduction
Online Education is a project focused towards creating my personalized collection of study material on engineering, design, technology, and other topics.
Back in 2013, I wanted to create a study resource for my classmates. What started as a capable platform to share notes with my classmates, ended up becoming an open-access study resource for students and teachers all over the world.
The project contains my handwritten notes and tutorial videos. Over time, I have continued to add notes, class presentations, reference books, and test prep materials shared by my teachers and friends.

Every student of BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus would love to have a helpdesk which is easy to use and helps them find in one place all relevant information related to their courses. Akshansh's Helpdesk is a sincere effort in this direction. It's a great website with reliable and authentic reference materials prepared in easy to understand language. Additionally, the layout and design of the site is outstanding and shows the creative side of the owner. Highly recommended.

Story
THE BEGINNING
I still remember the day when I was first asked for my class notes. It was in December 2011, when a friend of mine wanted my notes to refer one of the class lectures. Fearing that I might lose my notes, I told him that I would click pictures and send.
Apps to scan from phone had just come at that time. As I wanted to give my material in the most organized manner, I downloaded the app, to scan (click and edit pictures) and send my notes.
Soon, this became a regular habit, where I was asked for my notes, and I started scanning and sharing it with the ones who needed them - initially they were just a few pages, and then gradually turned into a complete set of notes.
UPLOADING AND SHARING
Next arose the need to share it with everyone in the class.
The launch of Google Drive in April 2012 gave me a perfect platform to upload my notes (PDF files) and share it with everyone in the batch. So, a class Gmail ID was created, and the uploads started on the drive. Students found it very convenient to download and refer.
This went on for a year - regular scanning, PDF combining, uploading and sharing. The satisfaction and happiness of my batch mates kept me motivated to continue doing it. I started capturing videos of mechanical workshops and demonstrating physics lab experiments. I even started designing cover pages for each set of my notes.
INTRODUCTION TO WEB PORTAL
The cloud service was going pretty well by then, and almost everyone started referring study material from there. But, there were a few cases where someone deleted content from the drive. Now, keeping track of security and side by side managing the drive was getting difficult. So, I thought of shifting to some other media.
In July 2013, I took coaching for HTML and CSS. This developed my interest in webpage designing and development. One day, while browsing the web, I came across weebly.com, as a platform to create free websites. That gave me an idea to develop my site, where I can share links to my notes from my cloud service and everyone can download, keeping the content unedited.
It took me three days to understand the working, create a basic layout and develop functioning of the website. The refinements went on for a week after which, the Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer of the site were drafted. Other resources and study materials, games, etc. were also added.
Finally, the website was registered for Google Analytics (to get updates on the traffic coming to the site) and Google Webmaster (to make the content available in Google search).
So, by August 10, 2013, the website was ready, and on August 15, 2013, it was shared and publicized on all social media platforms.
The website started operating with on a new domain: Akshansh.net from 17 May 2017
POST LAUNCH
As days passed, the popularity and usage of the website rose, gradually from a few students to the whole batch, and then to students from various countries. Side by side, continuous improvements like making the web pages load quickly, viewing it on multiple platforms (mobile, tablets, etc.) and adding more content to it was done.
On November 13, 2014, the website touched 100,000 hits! That was the first accomplishment, and later, many others followed.
Today it stands with 300,000+ hits, viewers from more than 100 countries, study material for 60+ subjects of Engineering, Management, and Design
