I have closed my eyes again and have now started typing.
Today's day was one of the challenging ones, in which the decision I took had an immediate impact on what was happening in the company. It was relatively a smaller one, but the impact passed on to show in the policies of the company.

Since I have newly joined Venus, there are a lot of processes that are unclear to me. So, I tend to rely on my employees for information and updates. I question once in a while when something is unclear to me, otherwise, I tend to agree with what they say, and take the process forward. There are so many things that are happening in the department, that a detailed analysis of any one of them hardly becomes a priority.

So, today was one of the days, in which I had missed out on the understanding of candidate hiring in the company.
While I reacted based on what was told to me, whereas what was told to me was not 100% applicable there. As in, the team had not done what they had told me.
That called for a clarification from the CMD office, which once reached led to a lash-out on the team, since they had flunked the process, something that had taken us years to establish (actually decades).

Now, what I learned from this was that there are times when you are required not only to make the correct decision, but to also understand the impact it would have on the values of the organization. The culture that we have in our company has a solid grounding on how people perceive us on the outside and the inside. If there is a time when those values get faltered, then the management must take strict actions to ensure the continuity of something that it believes in strongly.
In today's case, there was a jump in the process that used to exist but was not being followed in the right spirit right now.
So, once that happened (the lash-out by the CMD Office), there were subsequent corrective actions taken, and a declaration of the new version of SOPs to make sure that this mistake is not repeated.
What matters here is also that the reputation of the company is at line here, since a new employee gets their first impression from what is shown to them. And, if that person is an HOD, then it becomes even more important.

So, I have made my notes from today. I was certainly thinking about it, and would continue to do so. I have made a plan on what I need to communicate my team for tomorrow. Now, all that's left is the execution of what I learned today. So, that was all I had to type out, a part of my blind typing.
I know that the story is missing a lot of structure right now, but that's also because I'm focusing on the typing more than I am on what I am typing about. As I get more focused and attentive towards this, I'm hoping that my typing would improve, and so will my storytelling capability.

Until that happens,
I wish you all, good night.
