One warm hug, and I melt like a candle.

I am in a rush of emotions. My mind is trying to process the events that have unfolded in my life over the last few months. A bachelor kid out of grad school has a life partner now! There is no definition to the level of belongingness this brings to my life. Every day feels natural, yet different. The way she integrates her life with mine is comforting. I feel welcomed and loved much more than I ever was. It is a different kind of love — one in which care feels eternal.

Yes, I have a life partner now! Just typing this out makes me whole.
For years, I had been ignoring the idea of spending a lifetime with someone. While it has just been a few months, I know that the journey starts with spending the first day together; and then the next day, and then eventually a lifetime.
The change you observe is that you gain company of a person who understands you. You are never alone.

It started with a text message, which extended to a series of conversations. As I opened up to her, I felt that I wanted to unpack my life to her in all honesty. And as I continued sharing, I found her reciprocating with compassion and interest. I was getting to know her better, and I developed respect and admiration for her values. My affection for her reached a peak when I found that the person behind the screen was even more pronounced in front of the screen.
I cannot forget the look in her eyes when we met for the first time. I was opening up to her and she was glaring at me with honesty. It was the right emotion at the right moment, and I felt that she was the right person for me!

Three months later, we experienced joy like we never had before. Every person that we knew was smiling, dancing, crying, and celebrating in front of our eyes. Our wedding, which will be remembered as AkshAdi, has become a foundation of new memories for our families. And I feel fortunate in just being able to experience it.

To begin with, I'd like to thank you for all the notes you've accumulated and provided us with over the years and I can say with confidence that I would have left BITS Dubai empty handed as opposed to with a Degree if not for your material.

Back in college, I could only give thanks in the form of prayer or best wishes, so the least I can do now is to offer my congratulations to you as you embark on this new chapter in your life.
