Human Calling Human: MoCap for AR & VR

Introduction
This project is a conversation between two humans - same person but different ideologies.
It presents an alternate outlook of the future. While the world is designing automation tools, machine learning algorithms, and robots to simplify our lives, this interaction explains that humans are the robots of the future - they are not humans anymore.
I want to highlight that in the process of being productive, we are giving away the aspect of our lives in which we feel free, error-prone, and realistic. We are not supposed to act like machines because we are humans.

to err is human.
Process
This conversation has been designed in Unity. Several technological setups were used to create this interaction.
  1. Motion Capture: Recording the human and robotic movement data points in a MoCap Studio using Motive by OptiTrack
  2. 3D Modeling: Using Autodesk Character Generator to create realistic 3D models with different attires (same face)
  3. Audio: Writing the script of the conversation and recording it in a studio. Then, refining it in Adobe Audition.
  4. Unity: Developing the scene in Unity by importing assets from the Asset Store, 3D modeled characters from Maya, and the recorded audio
Finally, these elements were exported as a PC application to make the viewers experience the discussion.

Brainstorming
Initially, I had thought of doing the conversation between a human and a robot, but later realized that the concept reflects better when the same person is interacting with themself.
Special thanks: Queena and Sae for being a part of the Motion Capture.
