Introduction This project is the first part of a five-part series, each containing prototypes for my thesis at Parsons. The series is called 5-in-5, which means that I do 5 projects in 5 days (one each day). The constraint is that I have to conceptualize, prototype, and document in the same day. For today's project, I have created a prototype for a game I call Immersive Policy. The idea stems from the notion of users not reading through the Privacy Policies on the websites. So, the game explains how much of the data users are giving away by blindly agreeing to the privacy policies. Final Version The following video is a demo of how the game's interaction would take place in Virtual Reality. Before you watch it, imagine the legal jargon of privacy policy playing in the background with overlapping sounds. And, whenever the light touches the letters, think that the words scatter away in free space. It's a different form of FPS games (First Person Shooting Games). Note: During ideation, I had set up rules and different levels for the game. But, this prototype only contains the visuals from Level 2. Process There were 2 main parts to my design process: 1. Conceptualize: I mapped the ideas I had for my thesis and the form I wanted to give to them. Then, I picked a form and created an outline for it. 2. Prototype: Based on my outline, I created a graphic version of the interaction using Cinema 4D and After Effects, finally exporting as a video.
