My Privacy: 5-in-5

Introduction
This project is the third part of a five-part series, each containing prototypes for my thesis at Parsons. 
The series is called 5-in-5, which means that I do 5 projects in 5 days (one each day). 
The constraint is that I have to conceptualize, prototype, and document in the same day. 

Today, I am doing research on understanding the definition of privacy from the perspective of different people and general internet users. 
I explore the perceptions of people in my circle, users on social media websites, leaders of companies and organizations, and authors of articles and books. 
Through the project, I am to get a broader perspective on the understanding of privacy.

Analysis
In the final part of research, I collected 20 comments (what I could gather in a day) and visualized them as a graphic. 
My primary observations were that even though privacy was a buzzword these days, people had some compelling stories and definitions around privacy. 
I also noticed a common pattern of people referring to a personal space and an intrusion of that by someone.
It was interesting to note how people were drawing a correlation of privacy with the online environment today and the way surveillance gets integrated in our lives. 

Process
There were two main parts to this project:
1. Conceptualize: Following the idea of starting from simple, I decided to tackle and understand the most fundamental questions around privacy. So, I decided to ask about the definition of privacy. 
2. Prototype: I found correlations in the stories and sentences people mentioned about privacy on the internet (and in my personal network). So, I visualized them through a graphic. The size of the quotes is mostly for aesthetic purposes. Although, these were also the ones that resonated with me the most.
