The Silent Box: Poem

THE SILENT BOX

The sub from Delancey was on time,
I saw the salt as down I climbed.
The street was quiet and rush was light,
I saw no music, just people beside.

The jackets and coats covered the view,
And shoes were boots as snow was due.
I entered the subway and saw no few,
The crowd was light so I sat to view.

I noticed I typed I noticed I typed,
As I went to Parsons today tonight.

The silence of snow filled the ride,
Just stops of station passing time.
With chitter and chatter at every stop,
The reds and greens were now across.

No tumble no push no morning coffee,
A different view for every body.
And I went out and counted the lights,
For train was long and I couldn't otherwise.

I noticed I typed I noticed I typed,
As I went to Parsons today tonight.
